“Kaleidoscope Facets,” a Life in Science and Beyond

August 23, 2023 @ 2:00 pm

Dr. Frank Plasil’s live author talk will discuss his memoir, Kaleidoscope Facets: A Memoir of Darkness and Light, which “weaves together multiple themes in unexpected ways”

from his escape as a young boy from Nazi occupation in Czechoslovakia, to his emigration to the United States, to

his education and career as a scientist working in Oak Ridge, as well as the joy and pain he encounters in family relationships.

Dr. Linda Best, Professor Emerita of Kean University and instructor in memoir writing at ORICL will be interviewing Dr. Plasil.

Light refreshments will be available. Author Talk will be in the Oak Ridge Public Library Meeting Room.
