Wanda Marth will be missed. Having been at Oak Ridge Public Library for over 20 years before her retirement in 2021, those on staff and our patrons who had the opportunity to know her experienced Wanda as a caring, warm person. She was the kindest soul you could meet, welcoming you with open arms and remembering even the smallest details about your life. Wanda was our candy lady, always making sure that staff had a sweet treat to get them through the day. She was the biscuit lady for those lucky enough to work with her on a Saturday. She also fed our hearts and our spirits with her kindness and her easy-going, happy smile. As a doting grandmother herself, she always inquired how the kids and grandkids were doing. She was always dependable and kept the newspapers and periodicals stocked. It was common for patrons to ask for her by name. She will be remembered as someone who loved her family and who shared generously with others.
We loved Wanda, and our lives will seem a little less full without her.
