Seed Library

You know that libraries have books, but did you know that you can also borrow seeds?

Our seed library has a variety of seeds available for anyone interested. We also accept seed donations throughout the year.

 

How It Works

Using the Seed Library is as easy as following three simple steps:

  1. Borrow up to 6 seed packets by visiting the main desk of the library with your library card
  2. Plant your garden, attend one of our gardening programs, or participate one of Oak Ridge’s community gardens.
  3. If possible, return some of your viable seeds from the plants you grew to help contribute to a local and sustainable source of garden seeds.

Gardening Programs

We host three events per calendar year that focuses on gardening or nature. Previous topics have included food preservation, container gardening, and how to attract garden insects.
