Donate to the Library

There are many ways to donate to Oak Ridge Public Library.

If you would like to support our programs, services or collection of books, the best way to do that is to donate to the Friends of Oak Ridge Public Library.

If you would like to donate books or other items please see below, or feel free to call us at (865) 425-3455 if you have any questions.

Item Donations

We accept items for donation inside the library in our Donation Center. Receipts stating the number of items you donated and date of donation are available upon request during business hours on items brought inside only.

We ask that you not place items that you wish to donate to us in the outdoor book drop.

Four Boxes or Less

If you are donating less than four boxes or large bags worth of items, you can bring them to the library's donation center, located inside the main library.

Five Boxes or More

If you are donating five or more boxes/large bags worth of items, please call the library at (865) 425-3455 and ask for the contact number for the FOL president, Nancy Hardin.

Local Author Donations

If you are a current or recent resident of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the Library will consider your new book for inclusion in our local author collection as outlined in our Material Selection Policy. If you are donating a copy of a book that is not written by an Oak Ridge author, that item will be considered under the Library’s selection policy. All Local Author donations must include a filled-out Local Author Book Donation form.

Monetary Donations

If you would like to make a donation to support Oak Ridge Public Library for the long term, please consider a donation to our Endowment Fund. Initiated by the Friends of the Oak Ridge Public Library in 1970 for the opening of the new library building, the Endowment Fund exists to support capital improvements and other long term projects benefitting the library.
