Volunteer at the Library

Whether you're a student looking for volunteer hours, interested in learning new skills, eager to serve your community, or simply enjoy spending time at the library, we’d be glad to have you! Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, and we are not able to accept applicants with active court orders.

We offer a variety of opportunities for those willing to give their time to help the library. Some ways you might support us as a volunteer include:

  • Keeping materials clean, tidy, and in good condition
  • Shelving and processing new items
  • Prepping informative materials for patrons
  • Helping track and stock our Seed Library inventory
  • Assisting with special collections projects in the Oak Ridge Room
  • Supporting staff during outreach and engagement efforts both inside and outside the library

Volunteer shifts are typically one to two hours long and take place during our regular hours of operation. Applications are accepted year-round, and our coordinator will work with you to find tasks that suit your interests and a schedule that fits your needs. Space is limited and shifts fill up quickly, but we do maintain a waitlist and will contact you when openings become available.
